Recruitment.

Are you interested in being part of an upcoming docuseries episode? Do you have a health-related story you would like to share?

The Métis National Council invites you to participate in our exciting new documentary series exploring the health landscape of the citizens of the Métis Nation. Selected citizens will be featured in the series filmed by Indigenous Geographic. The series will be shown across the Homeland and beyond to educate and advocate for Métis health needs while highlighting the strengths of our culture. If asked to participate in the series, filming is anticipated to take 1 to 2 days.

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

- Trauma-informed care and anti-Indigenous racism
- Mental health and wellness
- Commercial tobacco cessation
- Long-term and continuing care
- Extended health benefits
- Chronic disease

Accommodation and travel will be provided as needed in addition to a $500 honorarium for your participation. We want to highlight the diverse array of experiences that make up our wonderful Nation. We will provide culturally safe mental health support as needed as we recognize these conversations may bring up difficult feelings for some participants.

If you have a story, please complete our Expression of Interest form or for more information, please email us at docuseries@métisnation.ca. Please note, we are currently recruiting for episodes based on Long-Term Continuing Care / Palliative Care / MAID and Tobacco (Either commerical tobacco use or traditional tobacco harvesting use).

“Together we can and will continue to revitalize and tell our stories, our beautiful Métis stories for today and for our future generations.”

— Margaret Froh, President of the Métis Nation of Ontario
